Router won't assign network adapter a valid IP addresslocation: 7forums.com - date: December 16, 2010For some reason my Router stopped assigning my LAN Adapter a valid IP address. No windows updates were made, the router did not reset, I didn't change the driver, it was entirely spontaneous.
Things I've tried with no success:Power cycled the PC and the Modem/Router /release & /renew the IP address trough the cmd prompt 'netsh winsock reset' from the cmd prompt (and restarted machine) Switched ethernet ports on both the router AND my PC (I have two ethernet network adapters) putting my entire router in the microwave for 15 minutes with a can of gasoline repeated all the above steps per the direction of a 'technical expert' at Verizon FiOS who clearly drinks paint for breakfast Replaced the ethernet cable Updated. Cannot set automatically assigned IP address in Windows 7 on a wired networklocation: microsoft.com - date: January 15, 2013I am currently in the process of changing computers in my office network to a wired connection rather than the wireless one we previously used. The majority of these computers have been Windows 7 x64 and have handled the connection beautifully, automaticallyobtaining an IP address and causing no problems. With some computers I have discovered that there is a very strange problem. While connected through their wireless adapters (these are universally USB wireless devices) they can connect to our network just fine.
When I connected them to the wired connection, they simply would not connect. I checked the TCP/IP settings and discovered a previously saved manual configuration for the adapter.
I set this to automatically obtain an IP ad.
Hi, great job with the tutorial and help.I ordered a generic 250gb drive off Ebay for my phat 360. I plugged it in and it recognized it and had 228gb free. I wanted to transfer my data from my 120gb to the new drive.
I had the MS transfer disc that my friend gave me. He couldn't find the cable so I got a generic one from Ebay. I didn't realize till I read in here that the generic cable won't work. I clicked the prep the drive thing and now it thinks it's a 15.9gb USB memory stick when I try to transfer.
The xbox won't recognize the drive when it's plugged in the hdd slot. When I bring the drive up in party buffalo it shows a 239gb hd and a 15.9gb usb drive. I guess those are the two partitions. I can choose one or the other. How do I recover from this? Do I take the drive out of the case and connect to the PC and run HDDHacker?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Click to expand.Actually, I think this is WAY simpler than you think to get the drive back. Click to expand.Bummer, wish this was caught on my original post.now this will work with the original xbox? This thing is like 10 years old. Probably bought at release day. I will google to see if this thing even has a hard drive at all and if it's SATA or not.I won't be going back up until next weekend, so I have the week to get this down so I can get it all done and working before I leave.Thanks-=Mark=-ps.
It killed my message again. It does not like links at all. Not even from their own site? Very strange.pss.
